Before I Fall- Tone and Mood

The tone of the book is very sneaky and brutally honest. Here is an example in the text, why I say this is the tone of the book. "To be honest, I'd always thought the whole final-moment, mental life-scan thing sounded pretty awful"(Oliver, 3). She is abruptly saying how when she died, this is what she felt, and thought of. An example in the book where the main character Sam's voice persuaded others is in the next example. "'What did I tell you Izzy?' I say poking her in the middle of the forehead"(Oliver, 9). She uses a very mad, and serious tone to try and convince her sister to stop touching her things. The mood is almost scary. This is because when I read this, it makes me feel uncomfortable and sort of scared about what she's going to say next.

  2. Such a great way to describe your book. Great job, the quotes really supported the tone you chose.
