Mortal Instruments- text to text
This book reminds me of the series of Percy Jackson. They both are mythical.and have extra ordinary powers. They also both have to deal with fighting off evil. The main characters are both posed as the heros. In each of the stories they are filled with tons of action and excitement. They both interest me and keep me reading! They are very good and have lots of interesting characters. If you have read either of these books would you say they seem similar?

Mortal Instruments City of Bones- Why did the author write this type of work?
I think the author wrote this book for two reasons. One is because it is for entertainment. It is action-packed and full of cool suprises. It is really intresting and it is very unrealisitc, which makes you enjoy it even more. The book inculeds fantasy type powers, and cool tools that they use. Another reason is for the theme. I think that out of every book there is at least one meaningful theme to the story. Even though I haven't finished the book yet, I'm sure I will come across one. Especially at the end of the book, where the story wraps itself up. Also it is where most of the characters apoligize, and get back together (if they had become seperated or mad at each other).
Farenheit 451- Why did the author write this work?
I think that the author wrote this work to share his feelings about a controlled government. I think he is also trying to get across that it is ok to be diffrent than other people. He does these two things by saying that in 451, that they are not free to do what they want. They are strictly controlled and not even allowed to know things from the past. The author may be trying to say that he does not think that this is ok, and is should never happen. Also, he is trying to say that the world would be crazy with such a strict government. Everbody would have to be the same, and some people would not like that. They may revolt (such as Clarisse) by disobeying the gtovernment. Like in the book it seems as Clarisse and her family reads, which is strictly agianst the law.

My Blogger Experience
Click hereto view my best blog post.
I chose this post as my best blogger post and it was for the book, The Last Song by Nicholas Sparks. I chose this because in the text, I fully summarized to the reader what the book was about, detailing everything I could to make it easier to understand if they have never read it before. I explained the begining, conflicts, and result of the books ending. I also had chosen a good theme for the book. This was, "Always cherish what you've got because when its gone, you will have wished you did." This is because in the book Ronnie (main character) loses somebody in her life she took for granted, and never thought she would lose. She really didn't understand how good she had it until she lost them. This shapes her character from someone who didn't really care about anything, to somebody who cares about everthing. I explained in the post how this made her very upset, and changed her life forever.
One thing that I struggled with during my blogger experience was how I was not very timely organized with it. I would usually do them a day or two before they were due, causing me to not do them to the best of my abilities. The way that I decreased this issue it to start my blogger post on the day I get the assignment and work on it through the whole week, and perfect it on the day before it was due. Even though I did not always do this, the times I did I had a really good post. While blogging I had a few good strengths to work with. One of them was that I read the comments. This allowed me to see what errrors I made, and the good things I did in my posts. I also liked seeing what opinions other people had of my posts. This helped me achive the goal of a good post!

Theme and Summary- The Last Song
This book is about a girl named Ronnie who is facing many problems with her life currently. When her parents divorce, she is separated from her father, and isn't close to her mother. She is forced to go to her father's house for the summer, along with her brother Jonah. As Jonah is excited to see the beach, his father, and the life around where he lives, Ronnie is desperately trying to find a way to get out of the situation. When Ronnie and Jonah arrive, Ronnie avoids her father as much as possible, while Jonah spends every second possible with his father. Later in the story, Ronnie meets a guy named Will, and falls in love with him. She is struck with a hardship among her family, and goes to him for his help. He helps her and Jonah to try and get through the situation but suddenly she doesn't feel like will ever again. I think the theme for this story is, always cherish what you've got because when its gone, you will have wished you did.

Before I Fall- Theme and Summary 2
This book is about a girl named Sam who isin't sure about what has happend the past few days of her life. Speaking of life, she isin't sure it will last too long. This is because, she has been re-living the same day of a car crash for the past 7 days. Each day she wakes up and has to re-live it and try to stop it. She ends up getting in the crash due to her and her friends carelessness about their lives. They drank, smoked, and began to drive away from a friend's party. They didn't even think about it not being safe for them. So, every of the days she has to make up she tries to figure out what is happening and how to stop it.
Before I Fall- Analysis 2
In the book, Before I Fall, there are many important sentences you might not recognize or understand are very important. They lead to the main story, or theme and usually have something to do with conflict. An example I chose in the book and am going to explain is, "The weird thing is that I hadn't thought about that in forever. It was one of those memories I didn't even know I remembered, if you know what I mean" (Oliver, 4-5). She was describing before this quote, the things she wore, who she was with, and things like that. She says these were things she didn't recognize about the day, and things that she wasn't paying attentin to. This quote means that she didn't pay attention to these things, and was now just taking the time to. Afterall, she didn't know she was going to die that day, so she wouldn't have been the only one to not notice what she was wearing, or who she was with.

Before I Fall- Tone and Mood
The tone of the book is very sneaky and brutally honest. Here is an example in the text, why I say this is the tone of the book. "To be honest, I'd always thought the whole final-moment, mental life-scan thing sounded pretty awful"(Oliver, 3). She is abruptly saying how when she died, this is what she felt, and thought of. An example in the book where the main character Sam's voice persuaded others is in the next example. "'What did I tell you Izzy?' I say poking her in the middle of the forehead"(Oliver, 9). She uses a very mad, and serious tone to try and convince her sister to stop touching her things. The mood is almost scary. This is because when I read this, it makes me feel uncomfortable and sort of scared about what she's going to say next.

Before I Fall- Reading Skills Redo
In the book, Before I Fall, I decided to redo my reading skills for it. I'm confused on the theme a little bit. I think it's supposed to be how she wakes up everyday for a week re-living the same exact day, which the day is the day she crashes her car with friends, and tries to fix it. But, I'm not sure because the book is giving me mixed messages about it. Also I found out that this book is a lot like Pretty Little Liars, because they are both suspenseful. I also think it is a lot like 13 Reasons Why because they are both about how a girl lives her last days alive, but the difference in 13 Reasons Why is the main character is the reason for her own death. I also think that Before I Fall is fantasy, so I cannot relate it to anything in the real world! But, I do think that people are making a lot of books about how people die, but before, something magical changes their lives, just to make it more interesting!
Before I Fall- Analysis
A quote I chose from the book, Before I Fall that was important to the story and had a meaning was this. "They say that just before you die your whole life flashes before your eyes, but that’s not how it happened for me"(Oliver, 1). This is the very first quote of the prologue. It is interesting because it has hidden meanings, and already gives out a lot of information. What I mean is, it says, when you die. So, she obviously has died. They also say your life flashes, but she then says it didn't happen to her, so that means she's basically telling us how dying feels like. Just the first sentence I get an almost careless, but yet confident vibe from the main character. I feel like she would become a trouble maker, and found out later on in the book, I was correct.

Book recomondation
I think one of the most interesting and cliff-hanging book I've ever read has to be, 13 Reasons Why, by Jay Asher. It is about a boy named Clay who is facing a difficult situation. A package arrived at his door, on the day a classmate committed suicide, her name was Hannah Baker. He opened the package just to find tapes, tapes of Hannah talking about why she did what she did. He finds out that everyone who was part of the 13 reasons why she did it, also received a package. As Clay starts to listen he starts to wonder what he ever did wrong to her, and becomes more confused, and scared. But when he comes to the disc about himself, he becomes very emotionally upset. He becomes more attached to Hannah as he listens to her voice telling them what they did wrong. Then, he reaches to the last tape. Once he finished he decides something that will change his life forever.

Before I Fall- Reading Skills
In the book Before I Fall, there is a serious car crash and it causes the death of a couple of people. The main character Sam, I predict is one of the reasons for it. This is because she doesn't care about what people say, does what she wants, and isn't always friendly. A text to self example is in the story they make fun of a girl named Vicky and this happens a lot in the real world. Also a text to text example would be how in the story she doesn't even care that she died really, and this is also the same case in the book, 13 Reasons Why. I have realized that there are a lot of books that are very similar in even the smallest ways.
Before I Fall- Characters
In the book Before I Fall, the main character is telling the story of how she died, and how she spent her last day alive. In the beginning, she does not seem very serious about the fact that she had died, and doesn't even seem sad. But as the story goes on, she tells what happened and how she has one day to live left. I think as the story goes on Sam, the main character tries to figure out what to do and how to stop the future from happening. She relives the same day and tries to figure out what to do, and how to stop a huge accident. She gets into trouble, at the same time of this and tries to avoid even more. In the beginning of the book, she didn't care about what she did with her friends, and she didn't really seem to care about herself, much either. But after that, she tries to make things right again, and save herself even though she is doubtful of that. Based on this I think Sam will seem to be a laid-back, careless, teenager who doesn't really care about a lot, but I do think she will change her ways toward the end of the story. I think this will advance the plot because I think she will try to avoid the mistake from happening over and over, and try to be a better person, in general.

The Hunger Games- favorite books
One of my favorite books I have read has to be, The Hunger Games. This book is full of action, and instinct. In the beginning of the book, Katniss Everdeen, the main character's family is preparing for the Reaping. This is a ceremony in all of the districts (where they people live) to see who gets to fight to the death, and is the "best district". So, when they go her sister, Primrose is chosen to fight. But, Katniss won't allow that, and volunteers to go instead, with a boy, Peeta who is also chosen. When they begin the games, Katniss struggles a little but manages to fight, and survive. During the middle of the book, the person in-charge tells them they are allowed to win with the person of the same district. In her case, that would have been Peeta. So, she goes and finds him injured, and helps him to recover. At the end of the games, they release werewolves which were the people that died. They attack them, but Peeta and Katniss manage to fight off the last victor and survive together. Then they say that only one person can win, so they decide to eat poison berries, so they wouldn't have to kill each other, but they are stopped and they both get to survive. At the end of the story, they are happy because they both lived, and they were able to reunite safely with their families.
Hunger Games- main idea text
In the book, The Hunger Games, there are multiple themes to the story. If I had to choose only one theme I think it would be, "believe in yourself." That is because in the beginning of the story, Katniss Everdeen, the main character's sister is summoned to fight a battle to the death, but Katniss volunteers for her. Everyone believes she will die, and not last very long, but Katniss keeps her mind set on what is happening, uses her knowledge, and makes allies. She believes in herself, and doesn't give up even when it seems like she's trapped. When the games are over, Katniss trusts herself even more, and believes that if she can win the Hunger Games, she can accomplish a lot. She never stopped trusting herself, and in the end she began to trust herself even more.

Summer Reading Project/Book
In the book, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, the main character Christopher, a 15 year old boy with severe Autism, struggles with the world around him. In the beginning of the story Christopher is bothered by little things that most people seem to ignore. For example, he hates it when people touch him, he doesn't like being alone in rooms with people he doesn't know, and he doesn't like talking to strangers. As the story goes on Christopher is faced with issues with his father and himself such as, lies, conflict, that all lead to the run-away of Christopher. He believes he is forced to leave his house on a quest to find his mother (his dad lied about her leaving them). It is so important for him to find his mother he tries to ignore the fact that he hates crammed in places. He overcomes the hatred for it and makes it the whole way without making a huge deal of it. He finds his mother and then she realizes Christopher is more important than anyone else, so she goes back to Swindon, where Christopher's father lives and buys a house there. Christopher slowly begins to trust his father again by doing little by little. Christopher at the end of the story even believes that he is a new person. He believes he can do anything due to all of the accomplishments he made. He seems to be less stressed by his surroundings, and can do a lot of new things.
This article is great for my article because it hits the spots that I missed, due to summing it up. It tells more about the whole crime-scene in the story whereas I mostly focused on the relationships between characters and how it played a roll in the story. Dog in the Night Time
The video I chose is about a play in London that is about this book. The video is about the actors describing their roles as the characters in the novel.
